Singletrack Sundays 🤙 She was a pretty humid one mid morning, but it was so good to stretch the legs for a couple of hours around beautiful Parkies 🍃 And I can hardly talk about humidity after yesterday’s cracking 50 and 100km efforts, right! Yesterday I rode in the tray of a Ute across a creek... so now I can just bypass the Aussie Citizenship application process because surely that makes me automatically legit? 😜 I also spent the day with a kick ass @sunco_runco crew team on CP3 at Blackall 100, filling endless water bottles; sticking my hands into strangers’ sweaty hydration vests and generally cheering for you ALL. Because every single runner, regardless of outcome, was an absolute inspiration & the displays of grit and determination out there through good and bad times were incredible. Seeing the race from the other side was such a privilege. The humidity is rising... which can mean only one thing - it’s Blackall 100 weekend!!! 💃🏻 The hard work is done and tomorrow is party time. And since breakfast wine is not currently as socially acceptable as a 430am run (hell, is that even socially acceptable?!), with those words in my head, today I fully embraced 80 minutes of bitumen pounding suck. Coach’s response on my training log afterwards where I solely wrote “Completed workout. Embraced the suck today.” was 👉🏻 CRUSHING THAT SHIT!!!! When you come across an old World Champs Lacrosse photo and realise it was over NINETEEN years ago now 😳 Here I am about to get badly double teamed by these US girls 🤕 At 15 I was fortunate to be playing U19s and this was my first ever trip to Australia. Little did I realise while I was running around the WACA in a scratchy wool kilt (fabric technology has advanced in Scotland since the 90s 🤷🏻‍♀️) that Australia would one day become my home! Oh the things I could tell 15 year old Sarah...
